Unit 1: Introduction
-Study the affects of making healthier choices.
-Students will determine their focus: snacks, drinks, meals
-There may be groups within groups.
-Guidelines
- Intro questions:
-What are the person's present choices?
-What are they choosing?
-Why have they made those particular choices?
-How will you (the students) find out?
-Who is your study group?
-Students will list questions about the research, the process, the questions to be asked. (Quad A)
-Students will predict what people are choosing and why. (Quad D)
-Students will conduct their "pre-test."
-How, where, etc to be determined by students.
-ex. survey
-Students will analyze their data. (Quad C)
Unit 2: Research Awareness Creation
Objective(s):
The main objective is for students to be able to evaluate and synthesize information from various sources, and present their findings to help their peers make better life long nutritional decisions. This will increase their career major knowledge (of food prep, nutritional info, appropriate choices, internal workings of a cafe/kitchen, affecting change, concept) along with strengthening academic skills (concepts) to prepare them for a lower caloric meal.
What is the criteria we are looking for?
What are the 4 or 5 other areas that must be incorporated into what we are doing here?
